For ages, we have perceived human beings as physical forms. As a result, it is difficult to accept the idea that our true essence is invisible consciousness. Although most people acknowledge the presence of thoughts and feelings—what we call the "heart"—they still see themselves primarily as their visible, tangible bodies.
The heart, by its nature, tends to turn outward—toward society, relationships, and appearances. People seek validation, security, and a sense of belonging, often exhausting themselves in the process. But true healing and peace cannot be found through surface-level escapes or distractions. Instead, we are encouraged to turn our hearts inward: to observe what we truly feel, whether we are being honest with ourselves, and whether we are suppressing emotions like pain, lies, or fear.
Within each of us lies not only kindness but also more troubling aspects—what might be described as inner demons or shadow selves. The point is not to suppress these parts, but to acknowledge and understand them. Even those who speak of past or future lives often fail to realize that all of these selves exist together within the present moment.
We are urged to cultivate the skill of living in harmony with the many selves within us. This means not clinging to surface identities or seeking to impress others but learning to coexist with our inner world in honesty and balance. Once this is achieved, we can naturally fulfill our roles as spouses, parents, or children—not out of obligation or pride, but from a place of authentic, grounded love.
Ultimately, even our darker aspects can emerge without causing harm when they are tempered by warmth and self-awareness. This is the path toward living as a truly "good" person—not by appearances, but by living in alignment with the deeper self that has always been there, waiting to be seen and understood.
