We often judge others by their personalities or actions—calling some admirable and others despicable. Yet no matter how respectable or flawed someone may appear, if they live with the belief that the visible world is the true reality, they are equally distant from the truth. What matters is not the outward life, but the foundation from which one lives.
As long as we remain unaware of our true essence, we all live in ignorance. And in that ignorance, no life can be ranked as superior or inferior. Every person is simply walking the path they chose for themselves before birth, shaped by their own inner darkness. Once we truly understand this, we stop comparing and judging others. Instead, we turn inward and focus solely on changing our own foundation.
That realization—"I alone can change my inner base"—brings a deep sense of joy. From there, our way of living transforms naturally. We are no longer swayed by external influences, and we find happiness in simply reflecting on ourselves within the life we already have.
The truth is, living solely in the material world—whether successfully or not—is already a form of ignorance that defies comparison. In contrast, when we begin to live in alignment with truth, our lives take on a naturally radiant quality. In that state, there is no "inferior"; everything becomes "excellent." This is the true meaning of why no ranking can be assigned to how one lives.
人の性格や振る舞いを見て、「あの人は立派」「あの人は最低だ」と評価してしまうことがあります。
しかし、その人物がどんなに善人に見えても、あるいは問題があるように見えても、形の世界を本物とする土台に立っている限り、どちらも真実からは離れています。真実を知らずに生きているという点で、人は皆等しく愚かであり、その生き様に優劣をつけることは本来できません。
他人の生き様を評価することより、自分の土台に目を向け、自分を見つめ続けることこそが大切です。
自分で自分の土台を変えることができたとき、その気づきこそが幸せとなり、生き様も自然に変化していきます。形の世界に生きる生き方は、成功か失敗かに関係なく、すでに愚かで優劣のつかないものです。一方、真実に沿った生き方には「劣」はなく、すべてが「優」となるのです。
